What this covers
Uncontested divorce, from petition to final orders
Contested divorce and temporary orders
Legal separation, and converting a separation into a divorce
Division of property, debts and retirement accounts
Spousal maintenance
How it works
Colorado has a 91-day waiting period that starts when the petition is served, or filed jointly. During that time, both spouses exchange financial disclosures and work toward a separation agreement. If you agree on everything, the court can often enter final orders without a hearing.
If you don’t agree, we negotiate first, suggest mediation where it helps, and go to court only on the issues that remain.
What it costs
An uncontested divorce is a flat fee of $3,500, including a parenting plan if you have children. Contested matters are billed hourly, always with a written estimate first. Court filing fees are extra and billed at cost.
